- € 1,000 per diploma/master theses
- € 1,500 per dissertation

Where to submit your application: The Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and the respective Administration of the National Park.
As a result of its big success, the Austrian Award for Research on National Parks calls a new for applications for 2008. 25 awards will be granted to the most interesting and innovative diploma thesis and dissertations. Apart from environmental protection, education and environmentally reconcilable tourism, research constitutes a major task of the modern management of national parcs. Since more than 10 years research projects in various fields have been realised in the national parks as they constitute “Austria’s biggest open-air laboratory.”
Students working on their diploma theses or dissertation at a university or university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) in Austria or abroad constitute the target group of the research award.
The theses/dissertation has to be approbated between November 2006 and October 2008. Team projects and interdisciplinary projects are also eligible. Apart from natural sciences, there are also other research areas which can contribute to the development of national parks.
