Application Requirement
- Foreign nationals who have completed high school or any other secondary education programs of such level by the time of application
- Foreign nationals who are expected to complete high school or any other secondary education programs of such level before the enrollment into KAIST at the time of application
Note
This requirement and the instructions hereafter applies to foreign applicants only. KAIST regards persons without citizenship of the Republic of Korea in accordance with the Citizenship Law as foreigners. Therefore, applicants with Korean citizenship or those with dual citizenship must file applications following the terms of admissions prospectus in Korean.

APPLICATION FEE AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Non-refundable application fee $100 (USD) or \100,000 (KRW) should be paid in the following methods under the name of applicant’s name.
- If you remit the application fee in U.S. Dollar
- Amount : $100 (USD)
- Bank Name and Account No. : Woori Bank 270-003359-41-185
- Beneficiary : KAIST
- Totally $100 should be paid after deducting remittance fee.
If the final amount is less than $100, the admission process can’t be proceeded normally. - If you remit the application fee in Korean Won
- Amount : \100,000 (KRW)
- Bank Name and Account No. : Woori Bank 025-310617-01-036
- Beneficiary : KAIST
- And, applicant should submit a copy of the certificate of remittance enclosed along with application materials for confirmation of the remittance of application fee.
- A completed application form along with the full proper documentation (as mentioned below) should be submitted to Admissions Team, by the deadline.
Note
- You have to submit all required documents. If any one of them is not included, the application will not be considered for admission.
- All documents including SAT1 and English score records must be official and original. Copies are not acceptable, however, if the principal of the school authenticates the copies with a seal or a signature, they will be accepted. The offer of admission will be revoked if a candidate’s submitted documents are found to be false or counterfeit.
- All documents should be in English. If, for inevitable reasons, the documents are in a language other than English, it should be accompanied with a translation authenticated by the principal of your high school.
- An applicant who has the nationality from an English speaking country is exempted from submitting an official English proficiency test record.
- For a student with over two years¡¯ study in an English speaking school, the English records can be replaced by a certificate describing that all lectures were given in English during his/her study in high school.
- We shall accept only application documents which arrive at KAIST by the deadline corresponding to the admission schedule.
- We do not take any responsibility for a failure in delivery of application documents by the deadline.

- The Spring semester runs from the beginning of February to mid June and the Fall semester runs from the 1st of September to mid December. Course offerings are limited during the summer(July-August) and the winter(January-February)
- semesters.
- Complete a total of 130 credit units including 40 credit units, at least, from the field of specialty.
- Above 2.0 grade point average (Maximum 4.3)
- Above 220 TOEFL score (CBT)
- One credit unit is equivalent to one-hour a week course. Therefore, credit units for a three-hour course is three. In usual
- circumstances, you can complete about 12 to 24 credit units per semester
- Degree must be completed within 6 years (12 terms) at the latest.
- Transfer of Credit Units
- You can transfer up to 66 credit units earned from an undergraduate program at another university.
- However, each college will determine whether the credits are equivalent to KAIST’s undergraduate curriculum.
- KAIST Undergraduate Program does not have a transfer system. Credits are transferred after your admission to KAIST if you wish to get accreditation of the credit units received from a university attended prior to admission

Dormitory
Dormitory residence is guaranteed. Each room is shared by two students. Those who wish on-campus housing should visit the Student Affairs Team and fill out a request form upon arrival at KAIST. Dormitory fee is about $830(USD) a year.

Scholarship
International students may be given monetary assistance for the whole or a portion of tuition and living expenses in forms of scholarships.
The scholarship deliberation committee determines the amount of scholarship and payment period.
