Scholarship for the international master degree progam “Integrated Systems and Circuits Design”

Grant benefit paid: The scholarship is 800.– EUR per month, paid 5 months per semester (sum 15 months). In the final 4th semester, the student is directly employed by Infineon, where she/he will complete the master’s thesis.
This scholarship not only enables the student to finish the ISCD master degree program, but also offers employment at Infineon, one of the leading semiconductor companies worldwide.

Infineon Technologies is awarding a scholarship for the international master degree program “Integrated Systems and Circuits Design” – ISCD at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, campus Villach (Austria).

Scholarship Application Process:

• Application for admission to ISCD master degree program is mandatory. Please use the ISCD application form (http://micro.cti.ac.at/iscd-admission.html), which also provides details on all required documents.
• To demonstrate the students competences additional documents as listed under the selection criteria must be provided.
• Additionally to ISCD application forms add an informal letter indicating your application for the Infineon Scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded to a graduate, who is a citizen of a European country (see list below), to stimulate the student’s access to the semiconductor industry.

Scholarship Application Criteria:

• BSc degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Citizen of one of the following European countries:
  Member states of the EU, Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine
• Fulfilling the acceptance criteria for ISCD master degree program
• No additional employment

Selection Criteria:

• Transcript of records - ranking.
• Previous educational achievements - projects, awards, rankings.
• Work experience.
• Bacheleor thesis in English is of advantage.
• Relevant research papers in English if available.
• A letter of motivation/statement of purpose explaining why the applicant wishes to enrol in the ISCD master degree program and an indication of the value to the applicant’s profession (approximately 300 words).
• Two letters of recommendation.
• Examination and interview.

Important Remark:
Applicants who needs an Austrian visa have to apply for the ISCD master degree program early enough to ensure a timeley start with 1st Oct. 2008 (see ISCD admission page). The visa application procedure might take up to six months and requires a letter of acceptance for ISCD master degree program.
